The Carnot CALYM Institute, unique at the international level, is an academic consortium dedicated to accelerating research and its transfer in the field of lymphoid hematological malignancies. The Carnot label recognizes the consortium’s ability to develop ambitious public-private research partnerships in France and internationally.
At CALYM, we have a vision to build a strong Academic Investment Center to finance and pioneer transformative research in the understanding and treatment of lymphoid malignancies. Our mission is to bring together the brightest minds from academia and the private sector to conduct innovative research in lymphoid malignancies. Through strategic partnerships, proactive research and development, and original initiatives, we aim to accelerate innovation and its transfer, secure funding, and drive positive change in the field.
To support the development of CALYM Academic Investment Center, we are creating a new role focused on expanding CALYM’s business development activities. We are looking for candidates with a strong scientific background and a broad understanding of preclinical and clinical challenges, combined with a genuine interest in the commercial dimension.
What you will be doing
Attached to the Medical Affairs and Development department, you will play a crucial role in driving CALYM’s growth and innovation. Your responsibilities will include:
• Develop and promote CALYM’s R&D and technological platforms offer in line with market needs.
• Implement targeted prospection strategies and approach healthcare industries (pharma, biotechs, MedTechs).
• Conduct market intelligence to identify new opportunities.
• Represent CALYM at key events to build strong relationships within the hematology ecosystem (pharma, biotech, academic research, investors, public health authorities, etc.). and maintain a significant network.
• Provide suggestions for improving our offers based on interactions with identified prospects and partners.
• Drive discussions with key opinion leaders, scientific partners, and industry players to develop ambitious research projects.
• Diversify revenue streams to ensure long-term sustainability.
• Share best practices and collaborate with R&D, DIT and Medical Affairs Teams to develop partnerships.
What hard skills we need to see
• You have a dual degree in healthcare (Pharmacy, MD, science) and business school.
• At least 4 to 5 years of experience in business development, marketing or sales, in Biotech or Pharmaceutical industry or healthcare consulting.
• Business Development & Sales Acumen: Proven ability to develop a service offer, pitch it, and close deals.
• Strong interpersonal skills and willingness to establish genuine relationships with partners and within the team.
• Prospection & Networking: Ability to identify new market opportunities, develop strategic relationships, and convert prospects into partners.
• Project Management & Execution: Track record of successfully managing complex public-private partnerships from ideation to contract signing.
• Language Proficiency: Fluency in French and English, essential for high-level discussions with partners and international collaborations.

• You are willing to travel and comfortable attending key industry and academic events.
• You have experience or interest in investment and financial growth strategies, which will be valuable for the evolution of CALYM’s academic investment center.
